The O3D300 sensor from ifm electronic stands out from the crowd with its flexible and universal use for stationary and moving objects. It detects the dimensions of the goods via time-of-flight technology and signals the threshold values if the package parameters are outside the defined areas.
For automated storage space planning via Warehouse Management System or system Enterprise Recourse Planning it provides the size, orientation and position of the objects. Whether through pallets, post room storage building, logistics or distribution centre, the storage volume used, defines the capacity and the costs. The data is also used for controlling robots, sorting equipment and distribution gates.
The sensor features include the detection of damaged or deformed objects and provides height, width and length to calculate strap length and volume. Apart from the robustness, the sensor is distinguished by user-friendly handling and simple integration and handles in ambient temperatures of -10 to 50°C.
